1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of rockwellhome.ca and your purchase of goods and services from ROCKWELLHOME INC., operating as Rockwell Home Furniture ("Rockwell Home", "we", "us", "our").

By using our website, placing an order, or communicating with us by phone, text message, or WhatsApp, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Returns and Cancellations Policy.

2. Products and descriptions

We work to describe our products accurately. Furniture is manufactured in batches from natural materials, so wood grain, fabric, leather, and finish colour can vary between pieces and from the images shown on our website or on a manufacturer's site. Screen colour reproduction also varies by device. Minor variation of this kind is normal and is not a defect.

Dimensions are approximate and are provided as a guide. You are responsible for confirming that an item fits your space and can be moved through your doorways, stairwells, elevators, and hallways.

3. Pricing and availability

Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Prices and availability may change without notice.

Stock shown on our website may not reflect real-time availability. If an item you ordered is unavailable or discontinued, we will contact you to arrange an alternative, a backorder, or a refund.

If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a typographical or system error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after the order has been confirmed.

Our prices reflect what we expect to pay our suppliers. For special orders, we place your order with our supplier after you place yours with us, and occasionally a supplier's cost to us changes in that window. If that happens before we have accepted your order, we will contact you with the new price before proceeding. You may accept it, choose something else, or cancel for a full refund. We will never charge you more than the price you agreed to without your consent.

3.1 Price Beat Guarantee

If you find a lower advertised price on an identical item, show us and we will beat it. To keep this fair and workable, the following conditions apply.

  • You must provide written proof of the competitor's price: a current advertisement, printed or on-screen web page, or a written quote showing the retailer, the item, and the price.
  • The item must be identical: same brand, model, colour, size, and configuration, and it must be in stock and available to you at that price.
  • The competitor must be an authorized retailer with a physical location in Alberta.
  • Claims must be made at the time of purchase, or within 30 days of your purchase from us.
  • We exclude clearance, floor model, display, damaged, liquidation, going-out-of- business, auction, and closing-down pricing.
  • We exclude online-only marketplaces, third-party sellers, member-only pricing, staff or trade pricing, and limited-quantity or door-crasher offers.
  • We exclude obvious pricing errors, and prices that include bundled promotions, financing incentives, gift cards, or rebates.
  • Delivery, assembly, protection plans, and other services are quoted separately and are not part of the compared price.
  • We may verify the competitor's price before honouring a claim, and we reserve the right to decline where the price cannot be verified or the conditions above are not met.

This guarantee applies to purchases made from Rockwell Home Furniture in Alberta and is offered at our discretion in accordance with these conditions.

4. Orders

Your order is an offer to purchase. A confirmation email or text acknowledges that we received your order; it does not by itself form a contract. A contract is formed when we accept your order, which we may do by confirming it in writing or by preparing it for delivery.

We may decline or cancel an order, including after payment, where the item is unavailable, the price was stated in error, we cannot verify your details, or we reasonably suspect fraud. If we cancel, we refund you in full.

Deposits. Orders placed in our showroom, including special orders and custom pieces, require a deposit of 50% of the invoice total. This deposit is non-refundable, because we commit the order to our supplier once it is placed. The balance is due before or on delivery.

This deposit term applies to orders placed in our showroom. Orders placed online through rockwellhome.ca carry the statutory cancellation rights described in section 7, which this term does not limit.

5. Payment

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout and in our showroom. Card payments are processed by Moneris Solutions Corporation. We do not receive or store your full card number.

To protect against fraud, card transactions may be subject to address verification, card security code verification, and 3-D Secure authentication by your card issuer. Your issuer may ask you to confirm the transaction before it is approved. We may decline an order that fails these checks.

6. Delivery and pickup

We deliver within Calgary and nearby communities. Delivery fees are shown before you complete your order. If you are outside our delivery area, contact us and we will let you know what we can arrange.

Delivery windows are estimates, not guarantees. We contact you to arrange a delivery window and will keep you updated by phone, text, or email.

You are responsible for ensuring an adult aged 18 or over is present to receive and inspect the delivery, and that the path into your home is clear and safe. If our crew cannot complete a delivery because no one is present, access is blocked, or the item does not fit, a re-delivery fee may apply.

Inspection at delivery. You or someone you authorize must be present with our delivery team to inspect the furniture and acknowledge receipt. Please check each item before our crew leaves and note any damage on the delivery paperwork before signing.

Pickup orders. If you collect your order yourself, please inspect it before leaving. Report any damage within 12 hours of pickup.

These timelines apply to damage that is visible on reasonable inspection. If a problem could not reasonably have been seen at that point, contact us as soon as you discover it. See section 7.

Assembly and setup. What is included (assembly, placement in your room of choice, removal of packaging, or removal of old furniture) varies by order and is set out on your invoice. Please check your invoice, and ask us before delivery day if anything is unclear.

7. Cancellation, returns, and warranty

7.1 Cancelling an order placed online

If you place an order through rockwellhome.ca for more than $50, Alberta's Internet Sales Contract Regulation gives you the right to cancel:

  • at any time before the goods are delivered;
  • within 7 days of receiving a copy of your contract, if we did not disclose the information the regulation requires;
  • within 30 days of entering into the contract, if we did not give you a copy of it; and
  • if the goods are not delivered within 30 days of the delivery date we specified.

To cancel, send us notice by email to [email protected], or by registered mail or courier to our address in section 1. We will refund you within 15 days of receiving your notice. If goods have already reached you, you must return them within 15 days, and we cover reasonable return costs.

These rights apply regardless of anything else in these terms. The deposit term in section 4 does not limit them.

Please tell us quickly. Much of what we sell is special ordered from our suppliers, and we place those orders promptly. If you decide to cancel, call us at 825-305-1850 within 4 hours of ordering and we can almost always stop the order before it reaches the supplier. This is a request, not a deadline. It does not affect the rights above, but it saves everyone considerable trouble.

7.2 Cancelling an order placed in our showroom

Orders placed in person are not internet sales contracts, and section 7.1 does not apply to them. The following applies instead.

Within 4 hours. Call us within 4 hours of placing your order and we will cancel it at no charge, provided we have not yet placed the order with our supplier.

Special orders, after we order from the supplier. Most of our furniture is ordered in specifically for you. Once we place that order we are committed to our supplier and cannot return the piece. If the sale falls through, it sits in our warehouse. Special orders therefore cannot normally be cancelled once placed, and the deposit under section 4 is not refundable.

We understand that circumstances change. Where we agree to accept a cancellation as a courtesy, a restocking charge of 30% of the invoice price applies. This reflects our costs for delivery, collection, and returning the piece to warehouse stock.

Items we hold in stock. Where the item is already in our inventory, we will cancel and refund in full at any point before handling begins; that is, before the item has been picked, prepared, or dispatched for delivery.

7.3 After your furniture has been delivered

Once furniture has been delivered we do not accept returns or exchanges because you have changed your mind. Furniture is a considered purchase. Please confirm dimensions, finishes, and fit before ordering, and ask us anything you are unsure about. We would rather answer questions than have you receive something that doesn't work.

Where we agree to take an item back as a courtesy, it must be in original condition and a restocking charge of 30% of the invoice price applies.

This section does not apply to furniture that arrives damaged or proves defective. That is covered in section 7.4, and nothing here limits your rights under section 7.5.

7.4 Damaged or defective furniture

If your furniture arrives damaged, or proves to be defective, we will put it right. You choose which you prefer:

  • a replacement of the same item; or
  • a credit note for the value of the item, to use on anything we sell.

Report damage as set out in section 6: at the time of delivery with our crew present, or within 12 hours for pickup orders. For a problem that could not reasonably have been seen at that point, contact us as soon as you discover it.

Send photographs with your report where you can. It helps us resolve the claim and file with our supplier faster.

7.5 Your statutory rights

The remedies in section 7.4 are what we offer as a matter of policy. They are in addition to, and do not replace, the rights Alberta law gives you.

Under Alberta's Sale of Goods Act, goods we sell must match their description and be of merchantable quality. Under the Consumer Protection Act, we may not misrepresent what we sell. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes those rights, or any other right you have under Alberta consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Where anything in these terms conflicts with that legislation, the legislation prevails.

7.6 Items sold "as is"

Floor models, clearance pieces, and other items sold "as is" are sold in their current condition, which is noted on your invoice. Please inspect them before purchase and ask us about anything you see. These items are final sale. They cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged, and the remedies in section 7.4 do not apply to a condition that was disclosed to you at the time of sale.

Section 7.5 continues to apply. Selling an item "as is" does not allow us to misdescribe it or conceal a defect.

7.7 Manufacturer warranty

Warranty coverage is provided by the manufacturer of each piece and varies by brand and product. The warranty that applies to your purchase is identified on your invoice.

To make a warranty claim, contact us at [email protected] or 825-305-1850 with your invoice number, a description of the problem, and photographs. We will file the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf and keep you updated.

Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover normal wear, damage from misuse or accidents, or the natural variation in wood, leather, and fabric described in section 2.

Items sold "as is" under section 7.6 are not covered by manufacturer warranty for the condition disclosed at the time of sale.

8. Text messaging program

By providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive messages, you consent to receive text messages from Rockwell Home Furniture.

  • What we send: order confirmations, delivery scheduling and status updates, replies to your enquiries, verification codes, and, with your consent, occasional promotions.
  • Message frequency: varies based on your order activity.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the messages themselves; your mobile carrier may.
  • To opt out: reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages.
  • For help: reply HELP, email [email protected], or call 825-305-1850.
  • Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

You may withdraw consent at any time, at no cost, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

9. WhatsApp and email

If you message us on WhatsApp, we reply through WhatsApp. Outside an active conversation, WhatsApp permits businesses to message customers only using message formats approved in advance, and only where consent exists.

Commercial emails include an unsubscribe link and our business address, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

10. Website use

You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, interfere with the site's operation, scrape it, or use it to transmit harmful code.

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

11. Intellectual property

The content of this website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, and layout, is owned by Rockwell Home or our suppliers and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or republish it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

12. Limitation of liability

We provide our website on an "as is" basis and do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for the goods giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
